Microsoft releases New SharePoint and OneDrive features

SharePoint virtual summit was held on May 16th 2017 and Microsoft announced the latest features for SharePoint & OneDrive. Let us look into the new SharePoint features & OneDrive features that Microsoft released in the summit.

In the last one year alone, SharePoint has shown 90% growth, OneDrive content has grown upto 300% and well over 1 million new SharePoint sites have been created. Microsoft is unveiling cool updates very frequently and this would only grow these numbers even further.

Sharing Simplified:

The new sharing experience allows users to access & share Office 365 files directly from their File Explorer. Much like they access their local files. With OneDrive Files On-Demand, you can share files with anybody in your SharePoint network well within your explorer. (supports both PC & Mac)

SharePoint Communication Sites:

Keeps your organization engaged. Aesthetically appealing dynamic websites that will reach out to a wider audience. Any content published in Communication sites are available for display on SharePoint home to all users, across all devices for those who have access to that site.

Microsoft PowerApps:

now, creating custom forms is easy. Instead of playing around with just SharePoint default forms, this gives users additional means to interact. A great feature addition indeed.

Personalized Search:

Microsoft has made a personalized search experience with this new update. This is a new search experience powered by machine learning and artificial intelligence from Microsoft Graph. With this new search, your search results will include people whose skills, interests and projects are closely related to your search query.
